GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Wichita State men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Desert Shootout this weekend. WSU carded scores of 282-290-285 for a total of 857.
Grant Bennett finished tied for seventh place, his 16th career top-ten finish. Bennett shot 65-72-69 for a total of 206. His first round score of 65 is a new career-best single-round score, topping the 67 that he's shot on multiple occasions.
Gage Ihrig finished tied for 42nd place after shooting 71-70-73 to total 214.
Max Mason finished tied for 62nd after shooting 71-76-71 for a total of 218.
Alec Heinen finished tied for 94th place after carding 75-77-72 for a total of 224.
Conrad Walcher finished in 110th place after scoring 81-72-78 to total 231.
Jacob Bishop competed as an individual and finished tied for 24th place. Bishop shot 71-71-69 for a total of 211.
The Shockers will return to Arizona on April 4-5 to play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic (hosted by the University of Wyoming).
