WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State's indoor track and field multi-athletes and throwers set 30 personal records this past weekend as the women's team held steady at
No. 11, and the men's team dropped one spot to
No. 9, in the weekly Track and Field News National Dual Rankings.
The 30 personal bests were led by
Skylar Arneson's weight throw of 67-2.75, which ranks No. 2 all-time at WSU, and
Breanne Borman's school record 4,121 points in the Pentathlon. Arneson's throw is the 24th-best in the NCAA this season while Borman's poitns are the 10th-best.
Other Top 10s set this past weekend were
Gavyn Yetter's 3,773 points, which ranks No. 7 all-time, and
Claudia Rojo's 3,661 points, which ranks No. 10 all-time in the Pentathlon at WSU.
Borman, Rojo and Yetter each set two event personal bests in the five-event competition, but
Sierra Hays set three personal best on the day in the multi-event competition in the 800 meters (2:37.01), the 60 meter hurdles (9.14) and the shot (39-1). She also set a personal best with 3,368 points.
On the men's side, the men's multi-athletes and throwers set 17 personal bests led by
Ben Johnson's seven PRs. His 5,100 points in the Heptathlon was his best outing as he set bests in six events (60m, 60m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump and shot put).
Wichita State's track and field athletes still have 28 Top 100 NCAA marks after four weeks of competition in 2016.
Jamesia Milton's school-record weight throw of 66-10 that broke her own school record is now the 14th-best in the NCAA this season, while
Jared Belardo's triple jump of 51-11.75 is ranked No. 18th this week. Here's a look at the Shockers'
