WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State's track and field team's use of a split squad last weekend at the Air Force Team Challenge and the Meyo Invitational paid off with 30 personal bests and 12 Top 10 updates to the Shocker All-Time lists. In addition, the Shocker men moved up to No. 4 in the ustfccca.org Midwest Region Top 25 team rankings while the women are 12th. This week's Track and Field National Dual Rankings have not been released.
WSU's women set seven Top 10s led by
Taylor Larch-Miller's 24.56 in the 200 meters, which is the third-best in history, and the Distance Medley Relay team of
Rebekah Topham,
Savannah Wright,
Emilea Finley and
Sidney Hirsch which ran the fourth-best time in history, 11:45.73.
Rianna Maples pulled the seventh-best 60 meter time (7.64) in history, while
Rebekah Topham's mile time of 4:52.78 was also seventh-best.
Angie Vailas' 60 meter time of 7.69 was the ninth-best and Martiesha Caines' high jump of 5-8 is tied for the 10th best.
For the men,
Ugis Jocis' mile time of 4:04.41 is the third-best at WSU and topped a list of five who improved their bests and found Top 10 marks.
Brady Johnson's 3,000 meter time of 14:20.74 is a personal best as he kept the No. 4 spot at WSU, while
Jared Belardo's 24-7.75 in the long jump moves him to tied for sixth.
Paul Raymond also improved his 5,000 meter time and held onto the No. 7 spot in the Top 10.
Tucker Davis' 21.77 in the 200 meters holds down the No. 8 spot to round out updates for the men.
Wichita State's track and field athletes still have 28 Top 100 NCAA marks after five solid weeks of competition in 2016.
Breanne Borman's school record 4,142 points in the Pentathlon this week dropped one spot to No. 11 in the NCAA. The top 16 qualifiers who declare will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championship March 11-12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Jamesia Milton's school-record weight throw of 66-10 that broke her own school record is now the 16th-best in the NCAA this season, while
Jared Belardo's triple jump of 51-11.75 is ranked No. 19 this week. Here's a look at the Shockers'

The men's second-place performance at the Air Force Team Challenge helped the ranking as the Air Force men won the team event over the Shockers, 149-133, while North Dakota State was third with 109 points and South Dakota was fourth with 68 points. WSU's men collected five individual titles led by
Jared Belardo's two titles in the horizontal jumps.
Taylor Goldsmith won the weight throw with a toss of 66-10, while
Belardo won the long jump with a leap of 24-7.75, and them triple jump with a jump of 51-2.25.
Tucker Davis won the 200 meters in a time of 21.77 while
A.J. Stephens won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.16 to round-out WSU's champions.
Highlights of the Meyo Invitational included
Jocis' third-best mile time in Shocker history with a personal best of 4:04.41. For the women,
Topham ran the seventh-best Shocker mile time with a 4:52.78.
Jocis improved his Top 10 mile time from 4:05.65 a year ago to his mark to pass Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Fame member Randy Smith's 1974 time of 4:05.60. Only Alan Walker's 1973 time of 4:01.50 and Girts Azis' 2008 time of 4:01.80 sit in front of Jocis at No. 1 and 2, respectively.
Topham's time sits in seventh behind Karin Lindberg's 1988 time of 4:52.70. Kellyn Johnson holds the women's record in the mile at 4:35.35 set in 2009.
