WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State sophomore forward
Jyar Francis has decided to transfer to a school closer to her home in Hammond, La., head women's basketball coach Jody Adams announced Thursday.
"We want what Jyar thinks is best for her now and for her future," Adams said. "We are disappointed she has chosen to leave Wichita State, but I wish her only the very best in all her endeavors."
Francis played in 26 games in 2015-16, averaging 5.4 points and 2.8 rebounds a game as a freshman.
Injuries have limited her play to only three games this fall.
Francis made the decision ahead of the Shockers' departure for Columbia, Mo., on Thursday, and was not on Wichita State's trip to play the University of Missouri Friday night.
